Off to Denver CO and Dallas TX...
First thing's first... Check out links to sailing friend's blogs just added this week... Oh and yes, I did take the photo of the bridge at sunset on the top of the blog page! Me like...
Brief note on the Waldenstrom's , I had a treatment on Monday 4/9 and then we hopped in the car just after and headed out for Denver. We left the Bay area about 2:30 PM and arrived in Denver just after Noon on Tuesday 4/10. Treatment was uneventful. Same ol stuff, ha! I had decided to start treatment last September after the numbness had increased to the point where I really did not have a good idea of where my feet were ( or had been!). I was tripping over stuff a bit more than usual and felt like I was walking on rolls of quarters in my shoes. Numbness and pain a weird combination...
Not much of a change in the neuropathy last couple months. This was the third maintenance treatment with rituxan . The plan is the induction which we did last September of 4 treatments over a months time followed by a treatment every 60 days for 6 more times... Then wait and see... Things have improved possibly as much as 80 percent from the low point at the end of last summer. I can not complain in the least...
Back to the trip: Got emissions on new car done before heading in to see Andrew... Shame on us... Hey It's the steroids! They give decadron with the rituxan. The decadron keeps your brain engaged and thinking all the time for a few days after infusion. To the point where you really don't sleep for 36 to 48 hours so it was a good time for a ROAD TRIP!
In Denver we are seeing great friends! Too many to name but heart warming to see each and everyone of them (you)!
Andrew has made the apartment his own! Way cool and is keeping busy with school and work! Seems to have his head screwed on pretty well...
The CA mountains had snow as we fled the area...
AJ's apt is nice and spacious, with the bed placed above the stairwell we can all stay in apt with relatively little interruption to the boy's daily grind...
And the view is not too bad out the kitchen window...
Katie Sell came up from Colorado Springs for a visit, GREAT to see Katie!!!!
Judo Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and now getting ready to see if anyone shows for OPEN MAT Sunday!
