President's Weekend on SF Bay

Hey all...  Greatest friends John and Jeanine invited all comers and a few of us took up the call...  We all had a nice time in Richmond Point and sailing around a bit...

In the estuary we all saw a couple square rigged lovelies...


If you read all 20 of Patrick O'Brian's  Captain and Commander series you will quickly be able to tell me that they are flying only the main top and the main top gallant sails on this square rigged ketch!





This square rigged schooner has struck her fore top gallant and is striking her fore top sail...


On the way across the bay the sun set:






If I had a photo of black on black I would show you what this break water looked like at 7:00PM with a 20 knot breeze in our face:

Left Denver on a Wednesday, drove to Tulsa and visited with friends Cathy and Beau! Caught a photo of house but dumb ass me did not take friend photos!!! We did make it to the National Tournament, Referee meetings, Coaches meeting and draw, First day shiai and kata competitions and now today back for the second day shiai and then masters and brown belt competitions. Setting up SPOT CONNECT on HAJIME

We discovered the SPOT website : http://www.findmespot.com/en/  and then bought a SPOT CONNECT online on EBAY. We received the device when we returned from our trip to Denver/Dallas and are setting it up to include: SOS, HELP, OK, TYPE/SEND, SPOT ASSIST... Link:  LINK TO SPOT TRACKING PAGE FOR HAJIME It is a pretty neat system for about $129 per year  99 service+10 connect to BoatUS+20?Ins...  Then 100 41 character messages for $30... SOS:  Activate the SOS mode to begin sending your GPS location to the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC). Add a custom message to update responders of your condition. The IERCC alerts the appropriate agencies worldwide – for example contacting 9-1-1 responders in North America and 1-1-2 responders in Europe. Another day...

And what a day!!!   We headed out Saturday 3/3, anchored in Richardson bay overnight and headed out under the gate to sail the Pacific Ocean for a day!  Beautiful day! Oh yes, I changed the top of blog photo to one that I took today! Ballena Isle Marina is getting dangerous, another cruiser run aground today...  Oooo pretty!
